New Mexico Health Professional Loan Repayment Program
New Mexico dentists are eligible for a new state program to repay student loans up to $75K. The purpose of the New Mexico Health Professional Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP) is to provide repayment for outstanding student loans of practicing health professionals. As a condition of the program, a health professional must make a service commitment to practice in New Mexico. The HPLRP is a competitive program. Application to the program does not guarantee funding.
Dentist Eligibility
- Must provide direct clinical care under New Mexico licensing laws.
- Must agree to work full-time in a health professional shortage area for at least three years. (31 of 32 NM counties are considered shortage areas) Part-time work may qualify for prorated awards.
- Must be a bona fide U.S. citizen.
Must be a New Mexico resident.
