Thanks for Making the 2016 Mission of Mercy in Santa Fe a Success

The New Mexico Dental Association would like to thank all of those who participated in the 2016 Mission of Mercy in Santa Fe.  Over 1200 community volunteers gathered April 8-9th at the Santa Fe Convention Center to provider free dental care to 1218 patients, for a total of $1.16 million in donated care.  We would like to graciously thank the City of Santa Fe, all of the event sponsors, the volunteers and the oral health providers who generously gave of their time.

Charity is not a solution to the oral health issues facing our state.  But, the Mission of Mercy provides an opportunity to shine a light on the barriers to access that need to be fixed in order for all New Mexicans to receive the oral health care they need. The NMDA's Focus 2020 plan outlines ways state and national leadership can start making changes to address these issues.

Thanks again to everyone who made the 2016 Mission of Mercy a success.  We are looking forward to the 2017 event in Albuquerque.
